A wine with a harmonious and generous temperament, the red Carduni Sicilia IGT is part of the Baglio di Pianetto collection of labels. It is made from Petit Verdot grapes cultivated in the terroir of Santa Cristina di Gela (PA), where for years the winery has been dedicated to producing wines that highlight the qualities of the selected grape varieties with their own style. The flavour notes that Carduni wine outlines on the palate are enhanced by culinary pairings with red meats, game and cheeses.

More info

A rich and complex organic wine, Carduni Baglio di Pianetto effectively expresses the peculiarities of the territory and the grapes used for its production. With an alcohol content of 15%, it is an important wine, to be served with dishes such as game, cured meats and first courses with meat sauce. It is part of the Riserve collection along with other great labels from the Sicilian winery.

Carduni wine brings back the fine qualities of Petit Verdot grapes ripened in the 'Chiana Carduni' area in the Pianetto district. In these lands there is such a spread of 'carduni' (cardoons, in Italian), hence the name of the Baglio di Pianetto wine, indicating a rich presence of iron in the soil, an ideal characteristic for the optimal development of Petit Verdot grapes.

The distinctiveness of Carduni wine is delineated in an organoleptic profile resulting from ageing first in new, second and third passage French oak barriques and then in the bottle for a further three years. An intense red wine in colour, bouquet, of herbs, spices, liquorice, vanilla, cocoa and ripe fruit, and on the palate where it decisively confirms its character as a robust and persistent wine.
