More info

Irmàna Nero d'Avola and Frappato is a Corvo Terre Siciliane IGT wine with an intense and brilliant ruby red colour with slight violet hues, a pleasant bouquet with hints of rose and morello cherry. Its flavour is full, balanced, very fruity and with good persistence.

This particular Corvo wine label, which has been produced since 2009, is made from Nero d'Avola and Frappato grapes grown in central-western Sicily: Nero D'Avola in the inland area of Nissena and Frappato in the province of Agrigento. The vines are grown against espaliers with a medium-high density of vines per hectare; the grapes are harvested by hand when perfectly ripe, between the end of September and the beginning of October, then fermented with maceration on the skins for three days (Frappato) and six days (Nero d'Avola) at 24-28 °C. The wine is left to mature for at least five months in vitrified cement vats and aged two months after bottling at a controlled temperature of 15-16 °C.

Irmàna Nero d'Avola and Frappato wine goes particularly well with savoury fish dishes, pasta, complex white meats, simple red meats and moderately mature cheeses.
