Harmonium is made from three different selections of Nero d'Avola: the aim of the Firriato cellars is to express the richness of these grapes at their best. Harmonium is an exceptional blend in which the excellent balance between the power of the grape variety and the winery's style is evident.
Such a red wine is ideal for supporting dishes with an important structure: rigatoni with game ragout, risotto with porcini mushrooms and sausage, roast mutton, saddle of venison with wild plums, braised beef cooked in the same wine. It loves savoury and mature cheeses.
Harmonium has a deep, impenetrable ruby red colour with a violet rim. Initially it suggests notes of cherry, plum, mulberry, blackberry and blackcurrant on the nose, which then come together and duet with refined hints of rhubarb, cinchona, pepper, tobacco, nutmeg and dark chocolate, interwoven with nuances of minerals and undergrowth.
In the mouth, it is powerful, elegant and makes its vibrant tannins felt together with unparalleled softness and freshness. The Harmonium Firriato becomes, in a single sip, the absolute master of the palate; with incredible persistence and cleanliness it seduces the palate as only a wine of its great stature can. The recommended serving temperature is between 18 and 20 °C.
