More info

In 1985, the combination of new technological knowledge and local traditions gave birth to a Marsala with extraordinary perfumes: the Marsala Oro Vigna La Miccia 2016. The fortified wine is the contemporary expression of a historic grape variety of Sicily, Grillo. It is born in the area of Marsala, in the Trapani area, on a calcareous-sandy soil and grows on Guyot espaliers. The harvest takes place in the first weeks of September.

The vinification proceeds with the manual selection of the grapes, a soft pressing, sedimentation and fermentation at controlled temperature in steel tanks by indigenous yeasts. After 4 years of aging in French oak barrels, the wine can be served at the table with fois gras, soft cheeses or with dessert at the end of the meal.

In the goblet the Marsala Oro Vigna La Miccia 2016 appears amber and bright while the nose is enhanced by refined aromas of dried fruit, hazelnuts and almonds, with elegant caramelized nuances. In the mouth explode warm sensations, a savoury character and a long, bitterish finish.
